3D model
The Kikka first prototype, Kisarazu, August 1945 in 3D
A procedural model built in Blender from the type’s published dimensions, painted as The first Nakajima Kikka as it stood at the Kisarazu naval air base before Lieutenant Commander Susumu Takaoka made Japan’s first jet flight in it on 7 August 1945: a small single-seat twin-jet attack aircraft with two Ne-20 axial-flow turbojets in deep nacelles under a straight, tapered wing, a fuselage of triangular section with a flat bottom, a framed sliding canopy, a swept fin and a tricycle undercarriage whose main wheels came from the Zero, shown level on its wheels: dark green overall, light grey nacelle cowlings with the green brought down in a diagonal over the rear of each nacelle, and white-edged hinomaru on the fuselage sides only; the photographs are black and white, so the hues are the standard Navy ones (shape from the L+K Monografie three-view, with the wing at the published span and area and the fuselage scaled to the published length, checked against photographs of this aircraft).
