Maidenhead Heritage Centre doubles as the Air Transport Auxiliary museum — the civilian men and women who ferried everything from Tiger Moths to Lancasters — with a genuinely good Spitfire simulator flown under instruction.
Book the simulator; the ATA women's story alone justifies the visit.
