Aviation museums in Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire’s aviation was mostly over water. RNAS Pembroke flew airships on anti-submarine patrols from 1915. The RAF brought flying boats to Pembroke Dock in 1931. By 1943 it was the largest operational flying-boat base in the world, its Sunderlands guarding the Western Approaches. Nearby Carew Cheriton flew Coastal Command Ansons and was bombed five times in 1940–41.
