Privacy Notice

What this small, static publication records about its readers — and what it does not.

Last reviewed · 31 August 2026

No analytics or tracking scripts are loaded on this privacy page. A code check found a Google Analytics loader used elsewhere on the site, so it would not be accurate to claim that the whole publication is analytics-free.

Who controls the data

Marcus Greenwood, editor and compiler of the Aviation Gazetteer, is the data controller for editorial correspondence. Contact mg@ub.io.

What may be processed

The site is delivered as static files. Its hosting provider may process ordinary server logs such as IP address, requested URL, user agent and timestamp for security and delivery. Pages using the site’s analytics loader may send usage data to Google Analytics. The Gazetteer has no reader accounts, comment system or mailing list.

If you email the compiler, your name, address and message are used to answer you and maintain editorial records. The lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating and correcting the publication, or taking steps at your request.

Retention, sharing and rights

Correspondence is kept only as long as it remains useful for the enquiry or editorial record. It is not sold. Service providers may process limited data to host the site, deliver email or provide analytics.

Under UK GDPR you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or objection where those rights apply. Write to mg@ub.io. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
