The RAF Witchford Collection — 115, 75(NZ) and 195 Squadrons
RAF Witchford was a Bomber Command station in the Cambridgeshire fens, flying Lancasters with 115 Squadron, 75(NZ) Squadron and 195 Squadron. The collection is the only memorial display devoted to them, and it sits — unexpectedly — in the foyer of an office building on the business park that now covers the airfield.
The scale is modest and the emotional payload is not: crew photographs, personal items, squadron records and the roll of those who did not come back, curated by volunteers with a strong New Zealand connection through 75(NZ) Squadron.
Opening times, free entry and location
The collection is at Grovemere House, Lancaster Way Business Park, Lancaster Way, Ely CB6 3NW, free to view during normal business hours, five minutes off the A10. It is genuinely hard to find the first time — head for the business park reception and ask. Confirm access on the RAF Witchford and Mepal website if you are making a special trip.
