Boeing-Stearman Kaydet

A procedural model built in Blender from the type’s published dimensions, painted as The Imperial War Museum’s Boeing-Stearman PT-17 Kaydet, the US Army Air Forces’ primary trainer, built mainly from 41-8169 (later CF-EQS in Canada) with its 220 hp Continental R-670 radial and hung from the roof of the American Air Museum at Duxford as ‘42-17786’, painted in the pre-war Air Corps trainer scheme: a true-blue fuselage, struts and undercarriage fairings, chrome-yellow wings, tailplane and fin, a rudder with a blue band at the post and thirteen red and white stripes, a large white ‘25’ on the rear fuselage and a small one on the nose, stars under both lower wings with ‘U.S.’ under the starboard wing and ‘ARMY’ under the port, the uncowled engine with black cylinders and a polished exhaust collector ring, and a metal propeller with red, white and blue tips, as displayed at Duxford.
