Avro Heritage Museum → Runway Visitor Park, Manchester Airport
Woodford in the morning, then round to Ringway for the afternoon arrivals; the builders, then the airliners.
Manchester is where A.V. Roe set up Avro in 1910, and the city's aviation is still mostly Avro and the airport. The nearest stop is the Runway Visitor Park, 9 miles south off the M56. You can board retired airliners beside runway 23L.
Distances are straight-line miles from Manchester city centre; roads add a quarter to a half. Prices are adult admission from the gazetteer survey.
