A procedural model built in Blender from the type’s published dimensions, painted as G-AGSH ‘Jemma Meeson’, the privately owned de Havilland DH.89A Dragon Rapide (c/n 6884) flown from Old Warden and listed by the Shuttleworth Collection, built by Brush Coachworks at Loughborough in 1945 as a Dominie, flown by British European Airways on the Highlands and Islands service as ‘James Keir Hardie’ and later, as the airline’s last biplane, between Land’s End and the Isles of Scilly as ‘Lord Baden Powell’, and owned by Philip Meeson since 1992: the six-to-eight-passenger biplane airliner of plywood and fabric, 48 ft in span, with tapered wings, two 200 hp de Havilland inline engines in nacelles on the lower wing and the main wheels in streamlined trousers beneath them, shown standing tail-down on its wheels and tailwheel: silver overall with bare metal cowlings and nacelles, a maroon nose cap, a double maroon cheat line along each side broken by a maroon ‘G-AGSH’ on the rear fuselage, ‘British European Airways’ in maroon capitals under the cabin windows, the BEA crest and the name ‘Jemma Meeson’ beneath the cockpit, a gold crown and ‘Royal Mail’ on both sides of the fin, ‘G-AGSH’ under the port lower wing and silver propellers with yellow tips, in the restored BEA colours it wears today (the cabin glazing is shown opaque, the crest is simplified, and the lower-wing ailerons follow the general-arrangement drawing).
