Handley Page Halifax

A procedural model built in Blender from the type’s published dimensions, painted as the Yorkshire Air Museum’s Handley Page Halifax B.III at Elvington, a composite rebuilt by the museum’s volunteers around fuselage sections of Halifax II HR792, which force-landed on the Isle of Lewis in 1945, with parts of other Halifaxes and the outer wings of a Handley Page Hastings, painted as it is shown there: Dark Earth and Dark Green upper surfaces over black sides and undersides, on the port side as LV907 ‘NP-F’ ‘Friday the 13th’ of No. 158 Squadron with its nose art and a bomb log of 128 operations, on the starboard side as NP763 ‘H7-N’ of No. 346 (Free French) ‘Guyenne’ Squadron with French roundels and a red fin, four Bristol Hercules radials with red cowling lips, the Perspex nose, the four-gun dorsal and tail turrets, the H2S radome under the rear fuselage and black three-blade propellers with yellow tips; the upper wing surfaces are never photographed from above, so they carry no roundels.
