About Southport Air Show
The Southport Air Show began in 1991. The idea is credited to Mark Brammar, who worked in the town’s tourism and attractions team. It runs over a weekend at the end of August on the Merseyside seafront.
Some years have been cut short. In 2007 army units could not attend because of commitments in Iraq. In 2010 rain and flooding cancelled the Sunday, though the Saturday went ahead with the Red Arrows. In 2015 Vulcan XH558 made its final air show appearance here, flying in formation with the Red Arrows. The 2026 show ran on 29 and 30 August, with the Red Arrows on both days.
What to expect
