1. East Kirkby — Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre
If you only go to one Lincolnshire air museum, make it East Kirkby. Officially the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, it is also searched as East Kirkby Air Museum, Lancaster bomber museum, Lancaster air museum and Lincs Aviation. Lancaster NX611 Just Jane still taxis on four Merlins; Mosquito HJ711 runs; the wartime control tower and NAAFI are the real thing. Book taxi-run and event days early — standard tickets are separate from taxi-ride seats.
2. International Bomber Command Centre — Lincoln
The International Bomber Command Centre holds no Lancaster but is the emotional centre of Bomber County: the memorial spire, Walls of Names, and the losses database. Pair it with East Kirkby or Coningsby on the same trip.
3. Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre — Coningsby
BBMF at RAF Coningsby — guided hangar tours to see the flying Lancaster PA474, Spitfires and Hurricanes when they are home. Summer means they are often away displaying; winter is more reliable for finding the Lancaster in residence.
4. Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum
Cranwell covers the RAF College story and the station that trained so many of the crews who flew from the county's bomber fields.
5. Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre
Thorpe Camp — a wartime accommodation site preserved as a Bomber Command social-history museum, the human scale beside the airframes.
6. Newark Air Museum (near-Lincs)
Just over the county line, Newark Air Museum is one of the strongest independent collections in the Midlands and an easy add-on to a Bomber County weekend.
7. Hibaldstow — North Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre
