Free aviation museums in Norfolk

Norfolk’s free museums are mostly memorials to the American bomber war. The USAAF’s 2nd Air Division flew B-24 Liberators from airfields across the county. The 100th Bomb Group flew B-17s from Thorpe Abbotts, where the restored control tower has been a museum since 1977. Seething, Hardwick and the 453rd and 96th Bomb Group museums keep the same kind of story.
