What is on display at the RAF Coltishall Heritage Centre
The centre occupies the old main guardroom of RAF Coltishall — Battle of Britain fighter station, later the Jaguar force's spiritual home — and is run by people who served on the base. SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1 XZ384 stands outside; inside are squadron records, uniforms, and the cockpit section of English Electric Lightning T.5 XS421, plus the accumulated detail of a station that closed in 2006 with its fabric largely intact.
The guided tours are the point: veterans walking you round the buildings they worked in, which is a different experience from reading labels.
