Aviation museums in Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire has the oldest flying aircraft and the longest American tenancy. Richard Shuttleworth founded his collection at Old Warden in 1928. At Thurleigh, the 306th Bomb Group stayed from September 1942 to December 1945, the longest of any US air group at a UK base. On 15 December 1944, Glenn Miller left Twinwood Farm in a Norseman that was never seen again.
