Where to see Second World War aircraft in and around London

London’s Second World War was fought from its edges. In 1940 Biggin Hill was one of the main fighter stations defending the capital; its fighters claimed 1,400 enemy aircraft. They were directed from the 11 Group bunker at Uxbridge, 60 feet underground, where Churchill first used his line about ‘the few’.
