The short story
Britain’s jet in a wooden jacket: first jet to land on a carrier, first across the Atlantic, and the side-by-side schoolroom in which a whole generation of RAF pilots went solo on jets. Seventeen gazetteer museums hold the twin-boom family — the widest spread of any type in this compendium — including, at Yeovilton, the actual airframe that made the carrier landing. It has a supplement of its own.
