About this museum
Bournemouth Aviation Museum's proposition is beautifully blunt: nearly everything opens, and you may climb in. Cockpits from airliners to a Vulcan (seven people used to fit in there; reviewers confirm this seems impossible from inside), a mobile control tower with a live feed of Bournemouth Airport ATC, and a viewing line for the adjacent runway.
The sit-anywhere policy itself — one entry fee, no per-cockpit charges, a full BAC 1-11 flight-deck sim in a shed, and thousands (reviewers insist: literally thousands) of model aircraft.
- The seven-seat Vulcan cockpit
- BAC 1-11 full flight-deck simulator
- Live Bournemouth ATC feed tower
Free parking, free simulator, volunteers described as surrogate grandfathers. Mostly outdoors, so pick your weather; the odd review notes the cafe keeps casual hours.
“Super Museum and volunteers make it feel like at home.”— varun, visitor report
