About this museum
Morayvia at Kinloss is what happens when Nimrod people refuse to let the story end: a science-and-aerospace centre built around the maritime-patrol and search-and-rescue heritage of RAF Kinloss, with an access-all-areas approach — cockpits, cabins, a planetarium — and a volunteer corps thick with former aircrew who flew the exhibits in anger.
Nimrod XV244 (complete, and the crew who operated her sometimes give the tours) alongside a Sea King in RAF SAR yellow — the machine that defined Scottish mountain rescue for four decades.
- Nimrod MR.2 XV244, complete and crewed by its veterans
- Sea King HAR.3 in SAR yellow
- Whirlwind & Wessex
Weekends mainly; £8; families rave. Reviewers keep 'running out of time' because volunteers keep telling true stories. Budget accordingly.
“Out grandkids and I recently had a fantastic time at this hidden gem!”— Andy, visitor report
